He attended some college on a football scholarship. He was a long time employee of Dodge before pursuing his dream of becoming a motorcycle mechanic. Martin's expertise and dedication to his craft earned him the respect and admiration of his peers. His love for motorcycles extended beyond the workshop, as he became a 7-time national record holder in drag bike motorcycle racing. When he could no longer race, Martin found a love in drag race photography and took pride in capturing the magic moment when the tires left the ground upon takeoff.  He was a huge supporter of the former Osceola Dragway.  Martin's pride and joy was his modified 1974 Kawasaki Z1 1045cc motorcycle, which he lovingly maintained.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Martin was known for his unique sense of humor and ability to make friends with anyone. Martin was a dog-lover.  In his later years, he rescued many senior dogs and gave them a loving home. He lived his life to the fullest and always took on new challenges and opportunities.  He showed people that anything is possible when you set your mind to it.

Martin's courage was evident not only in his fearless approach to motorcycle racing but also in his battle with illness in his final years. He faced his challenges with grace and determination.
Martin will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the motorcycle community. His legacy of love, friendship, and courage will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
