SOUTH BEND - Kevin Joseph Murphy, 41, passed away October 7, 2009, in Salt Lake City, UT. He was born July 1, 1968, in Indianapolis, IN. Kevin loved life, people and music. Dearly loved his nieces and brother; he was affectionately called "Uncle Rumple." His best friend was his golden retriever, "Murph"; they hit every park together in Salt Lake and Park City. "Murph" even went on business calls. He played in the Irish Youth Hockey League, Notre Dame, IN.

Graduate of John Adams High School, So. Bend, IN, graduate of University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN. Survived by parents, C.J. and Jo Ann of Fort Mill, SC; brother, Michael, and nieces, Cassidy and Kate of Asheville, NC, grandmother, Mary M. Murphy, originally of So. Bend, IN, now in Rock Hill, SC.

Also survived by aunt, Judy Thompson of Houston, TX, aunt, Kathy A. Murphy of Mineral, VA, aunt and uncle, J.P. Murphy of Ft. Myers, FL, all originally from So. Bend, IN, and grandmother, Cora M. Thompson of New Carlisle, IN. Preceded in death by grandfather, C.A. Murphy, So. Bend, IN, and grandfather, Richard A. Thompson, New Carlisle, IN.

A Celebration of Life will be held today, November 8th, from 4 -7 PM at Trio's Restaurant & Jazz Club, 129 N. Michigan St., South Bend, IN. A private family Mass and interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame, IN, on November 9th at 10 AM.
