Michael William Berndt - a Catholic, a father, a son, grandfather and a brother - died on the 14th of December at the age of 63.

The first child of Edward and June Berndt, Mike was born on the 26th of June 1958. A happily remembered childhood was spent with his brothers Bob and Keith in the River Park neighborhood of South Bend.

Following graduation from John Adams High School in 1976, he married Toni Horvath and during the course of their 13 years of marriage they had two sons, Jason and Chad.

At his instruction, a private interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens will be conducted.

Mike’s life was centered on his faith and his family and he gave his best to both.

Those who loved him will miss him.
