Words can never express the sadness of losing a childhood classmate and friend.   The many memories we all have shared are the treasures that last us a life time.  Rest in Peace, Sherry.

A bright and classy lady, even in high school.  Very sorry for her family’s loss.

My heart is aching for Sherry's family and friends.  God bless them richly in their loss.  Sherry was a great friend during our time together as Classmates at John Adam's.  We even had a few double dates together (with my older brother driving!)  She was bright and energetic then, and I see that continued throughout her busy and meaningful life.  Share the memories, laugh, cry, and keep her influence going for another lifetime!

Our friendship wove in and out of our busy lives in school, in Chicago when she was there, and meetings occasionally in South Bend.  We talked via email and traveled together to Greece.  She always had a smile, even in difficult times.  I will remember her smile and her receptivity to  God's love, good, and the beautiful.  Blessings to Jeff and others who cared.

With love,

Linda (Jarvis)Snorek

Sherry lived a full life, beneficial to others. At AHS though serious about the academics--certainly much more than I, she added a spark of joy and happiness to the lives of us all.  It is clear from what the South Bend Tribune published at her death that Sherry provided professional leadership to those with whom she worked.

I was fortunate to have Sherry working down the hall from my office at the Juvenile Justice Center (Judge Nemeth allowed the local pro bono attorney program to use space that at the time was unused) when she led the program.  She took that responsibility seriously and I'm sure there were many local folk that benefitted from her leadership and direction--fitting voluteer lawyers with the specific needs of indigent clients is an unenviable task.

Later once that work ended, I would see Sherry in the JJC occasionly as she worked on a family estate that was trying to say the least.  The use of our computer case management system was also trying and it was a privilege to help her work through what she needed to do.

Rest in peace and know the calm and beauty of what is ahead.  Not only will you be missed, but you are missed.

Hal

I am so sorry to learn of Sherry’s death. We went all through Jefferson and Adams together. We lived just a few. blocks apart and would sometimes go bike riding together. I have wonderful memories of sleepovers, parties, and many Blue Bird and Camp Fire Girls activities. Sherry was fun, had a great sense of humor, was upbeat and so smart. I have a memory of when I was invited to be her special birthday dinner guest for a family meal at their Monroe Street home.  Her parents were always so gracious and supportive and served Sherry’s favorite meal to us. I was so excited about trying a new meat and could hardly wait to tell my mother to fix it. It was fried Spam! I smile when I think about her mother honoring Sherry’s special request for that when it really could have been something fancy. Sherry lived her life honoring her Christian Science faith and serving others. It was wonderful seeing her at our 50th reunion and I shall miss her at our 60th. My sympathies to those left to mourn the passing of this special woman.

I was in Sherry's home room class origianally LT1, the Little Theater. She brought sunshine wherever she went. It's hard to think of Sherry without smiling. She was always so delightful.  It was a joy to join her in Sunday School classes along with Janice Barley and Dean Johnson. I still have my letters from Sherry writen from her Wesly collage days. She was a great friend and I will miss her.

Let's remember to reach out to our other classmates (before it's too late). Remember to send them birthday greetings or just a short message.  Encourage them to post comments on their page, let us know how they are doing, the good things and the troublesome things. We are eagles and we stick together.
